Job summary

Legion Intelligence is looking for a Manager of Deployment Engineering to lead the team responsible for deploying, operating, upgrading, and sustaining Legion software across customer environments.

The role blends hands-on leadership with technical execution, requiring experience in DevOps, SRE, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and security hardening in government or defense contexts. Compensation ranges from $195,000 to $300,000 USD.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, deployment engineering, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Experience supporting U.S. Government defense or intelligence environments.
• Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, accreditation processes, and security hardening requirements.
• Strong experience operating Kubernetes-based production environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience operating customer-facing production systems.
• Strong Linux systems administration and networking experience.
• Experience managing operational incidents and production outages.
• Ability to lead technical execution while remaining hands-on.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customer technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of DevOps, DevSecOps, and deployment engineers.
• Establish DevOps standards and operational processes; set team priorities.
• Coordinate deployments across customer environments and internal infrastructure.
• Drive operational rigor, reliability, and deployment velocity.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex deployment issues.
• Engage with customer technical teams during deployment planning and execution.
• Lead operational readiness reviews and establish deployment standards across Legion environments.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform Engineering, and Customer Success teams to scale deployments.
