Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Deployable Aircraft Low Observable Mechanic 2, a rotational CONUS/OCONUS position at Edwards AFB, CA. You will prepare surfaces for coatings, apply sealants and paints, and assist in aircraft build, maintenance, and related tasks to meet contract requirements.

The role requires a US Government Secret clearance, ability to travel worldwide, and the willingness to work extended shifts and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 6 years additional education and/or relevant experience to the Aviation and Aerospace industry.
• Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
• Must be able to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.

Responsibilities

• Performs aircraft low observable maintenance tasks including sanding, stripping, masking and surface preparation.
• Mixes and applies sealants, gap fillers and paints following manufacturer specifications.
• Coordinates testing for specification compliance after applications are completed.
• Assigned work locations include Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA.
