Overview

Join Northrop Grumman as a Deployable Aircraft Mechanic (Level 4), primarily located at Edwards AFB, CA, with support for work in Palmdale, CA. The role involves performing minor structural repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance, and low observable tasks on aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor structural repairs and modifications.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems.
• Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions.
• Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re‑assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
• Fabricate, install, and test wiring harnesses; read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Cross‑utilize into aircraft low observable maintenance if trained, including composite/metallic structure repair, sanding, stripping, masking, and associated preparation tasks.
• Support a flexible schedule including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, on‑call status 24/7, and travel up to 120 days away from the primary work location.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of related education and/or experience.
• Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and 24/7 on‑call status.
• Valid U.S. passport.
• Compliance with mobility requirements: may accept customer‑furnished quarters up to 120 days away from primary work location.
• Meet medical requirements for worldwide travel, including a physical examination.
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical work: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 lbs, working overhead, and accessing small confined spaces.
• Pass physical and respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain respirator clearance and fit compliance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a final adjudicated government clearance: Top Secret, within a reasonable period of time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Top Secret clearance.
• Operational experience.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $76,800.00 – $128,000.00, adjusted for experience, education, and market conditions.
• Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
• Annual bonuses and optional long‑term incentives for senior positions.
