Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems at Whiteman AFB, MO, seeks an Aircraft Low Observables Mechanic 3/4 to support the B-2 Modification Team. This position requires the ability to work in a classified environment and to obtain a government secret clearance.

Responsibilities include preparing LO surfaces, applying coatings, inspecting materials, setting up testers, troubleshooting systems, and performing maintenance per specifications. Shifts vary (1st-3rd) with potential overtime and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all LO outer mold line structures, materials and applications.
• Prepare surfaces for coating (sanding, stripping, masking, porosity testing).
• Mix and apply sealants, gap fillers, paints and coatings.
• Verify LO material conformity and required quantities for repairs.
• Set up and operate material testers and mixers.
• Troubleshoot, repair and service aircraft systems.
• Work from wiring diagrams and maintenance manuals.
