Job summary

The California State University, San José State University is actively seeking a Department Analyst to support day-to-day operations of the Communicative Disorders & Sciences Department, reporting to the Director of Resources and Operations.

The role includes budget tracking, scheduling, hiring, supervising student workers, and liaising with campus offices to ensure policy compliance and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training required.
• Administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to development or improvement of policies, procedures, or programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage all department budgets and allocations using multiple systems (Data Warehouse, Tower, Research, FTS, CFS, WorkDay).
• Process travel authorizations and reimbursements.
• Track enrollment and prepare budget-driven projections for faculty and staff.
• Hire, supervise, and train student assistants and work-study staff.
• Maintain confidential records for faculty, staff, and students.
• Coordinate with campus offices on policies and procedures and provide high-quality customer service.
