Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Phoenix seeks a Department Manager to lead and grow a Municipal Engineering team. The role focuses on strategic leadership, client management, and delivering high-quality infrastructure projects for public-sector clients.

You will oversee budgets, staffing, production, mentor staff, and collaborate with marketing and leadership to expand the municipal/government business in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• P.E. (Professional Engineer) license required.
• 8+ years of experience in civil/municipal engineering with capital improvement design.
• Ability to manage clients and develop new business.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction to achieve financial and growth goals.
• Oversee productivity, profitability, client satisfaction, and quality of work.
• Develop and lead discipline marketing and business development strategies.
• Work with leadership to build a production team.
• Evaluate budgets, billing, and collections.
• Monitor backlog and resource sharing to maximize utilization.
• Foster staff development and manage employee relations.
• Serve as project manager and ensure scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
