Job summary

Sports Basement is seeking a Manager who will work with the General Manager to oversee daily store operations, lead a department or multiple teams, and drive staff performance and morale. The role emphasizes strong communication, staff development, and delivering WOW customer service across all areas of the store.

You'll collaborate with the management team on payroll, scheduling, hiring, and training to ensure exceptional customer experiences and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or industry experience.
• Recent experience as a Manager, Lead or Shift Supervisor (10+ staff).
• Proven track record of providing constructive feedback.
• Exposure to goal planning and driving a team to achieve increased sales and service.
• Able to create that WOW experience for every customer.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers and staff.
• Experience identifying staffing needs, and recruiting a diverse team.
• Internal candidates: experience using HR, scheduling tools and business tools including Google Docs, Paycom, Shopify, POS, Winterstieger, Sales Saver, Lightspeed and Fiori.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily operations with the management team.
• Seek out improvement opportunities for assigned departments and personal leadership.
• Delegate with clear instructions and hold staff accountable.
• Communicate effectively to all levels of the business.
• Provide support to the sales floor during peak periods.
• Uplift staff and store morale, act as MOD when needed.
