Position Overview
Buffalo Wild Wings is looking to fill the Department Manager role for one of three departments: Heart of House (HOH), Bar, or Hospitality. The manager will supervise shift‑by‑shift operations, develop staff, manage inventory and costs, and ensure a high quality guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the chosen department, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operation during each shift.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain department team members, maintaining staffing levels per business reviews.
- Develop and implement training programs, including WCT certification and ongoing development plans.
- Create weekly schedules within labor guidelines and oversee incentive programs to motivate staff.
- Conduct performance appraisals, provide coaching, and administer merit increases.
- Coordinate with other department managers on hiring decisions and share best practices.
- Maintain all required state and corporate training, permits, and guest comment program compliance.
- Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring accurate counts of food, paper, and alcohol products.
- Analyze performance reports (P&L, GEM, QSCs) to identify issues and implement corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and alcohol service regulations, including RAS and responsible service practices.
- Oversee equipment, inventory, and end‑of‑day procedures, reporting repair needs to facility management.
- Assist the General Manager with guest experience, marketing, and profit‑center monitoring.
- Implement and monitor cost control measures, including labor and material variances.
- Develop and execute sales and profit initiatives, such as contests and promotion rollouts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience.
- Experience managing a full bar is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between units.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and inventory management.
- Completion of the Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, sports‑centric environment.
- Open availability for evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and resolving conflicts.
