Salary: $18.00 - $27.40 hourly
Job Purpose
Oversee one of three key departments – Heart of House, Bar, or Hospitality – working closely with the General Manager to ensure a safe, profitable, and guest‑centric dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Team Management
- Staffing, succession planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training and ongoing development of department Team Members.
- Maintain records of WCT training, state‑required training, permits and certifications.
- Create weekly schedules within labor guidelines and implement incentive programs and contests.
- Provide performance feedback, conduct appraisals, administer merit increases and assist the General Manager with performance management of other Department Managers.
- Coordinate with other Departments to balance staffing and growth opportunities.
- Hold departmental meetings to communicate successes, new procedures and areas of opportunity.
- Quality Operations
- Ensure all Team Members meet quality and service standards through recipe adherence, portioning and vendor accountability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot food and bar equipment, inventory and point‑of‑sale systems.
- Analyze performance tools (GEM, QSCs, audits, P&L) and develop action plans to address issues.
- Maintain health‑and‑safety compliance, lead clean‑up activities and correct BOH and Steritech issues.
- Deploy new product rollouts, promotions, and bar updates, ensuring vendors deliver quality product on time.
- Sales & Profitability
- Control food and beverage costs, maintain inventory levels and monitor labor results within company variance limits.
- Generate and use daily/weekly/monthly projections, understand the P&L statement and create action plans.
- Lead waste, comps, voids and discounts management, especially for the Bar Department.
- Design and implement sales‑building incentive contests.
- Guest Experience
- Manage the Guest Comment Program, address guest quality complaints promptly, and coach managers on handling complaints.
- Utilize Guest Experience Management (GEM) to feedback Team Members and adjust practices for overall satisfaction.
- Identify techniques to attract new guests and enhance the overall dining experience.
- Heart of House Department Manager Specifics
- Responsible for all food/product matters in the HOH area and oversee all HOH staff.
- Operate within company‑defined food cost variance and labor SPLH targets.
- Order, inventory, and maintain proper levels of all food and paper products.
- Bar Department Manager Specifics
- Oversee adult beverage operations, inventory control and Responsible Alcohol Service compliance.
- Hire, train, develop and motivate Bartenders and Bar Servers.
- Ensure bar cost tools are used, oversee beverage costs, bar labor results and inventory levels.
- Hospitality Manager Specifics
- Support the General Manager with the Local Restaurant Marketing program.
- Develop and run hospitality services and incentives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience.
- Passion for fast‑paced environments involving wings, beer, and sports.
- Strong team‑building skills with focus on development and high performance.
- Open availability, including late nights and weekends.
- Self‑directed, results‑driven, with strong organizational, communication and basic math skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, enforce company policies and compliance issues.
- High school education or equivalent, valid driver’s license, satisfactory background check and ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Completion of Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
- Preferred if previous experience with a full‑bar restaurant.
