Position Overview

Buffalo Wild Wings Department Manager responsible for overseeing a specific department – Heart of House, Bar, or Hospitality – and supporting the General Manager to maintain profitability, quality and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage departmental staff, including hiring, training, scheduling and ongoing development.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality standards and company policies.
• Control department costs, inventory and labor to meet profitability targets.
• Cooperate with other Department Managers for coordinated staffing and operational decisions.
• Implement and monitor performance metrics such as GEM, QSCs and P&L.
• Address guest feedback through the Guest Comment program and improve service.
• Conduct administrative duties, e.g., invoicing and equipment maintenance.
• Program and manage incentives, contests and performance appraisals.

Department‑Specific Duties

• Heart of House (HOH) Manager:
  • Oversee food product management, inventory, and recipe adherence.
  • Ensure food cost control and labor results within company targets.
  • Coordinate new product rollouts and maintain quality standards.
  • Manage HOH team development and training.
• Bar Manager:
  • Supervise bar operations, beverage ordering, inventory and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and train bartenders & bar servers and enforce Responsible Alcohol Service (RAS) compliance.
  • Maintain cost tools and track beverage cost and labor results.
  • Run bar sales incentives and manage waste, comps and discounts.
• Hospitality Manager:
  • Oversee dining room service and hospitality staff.
  • Assist with Local Restaurant Marketing and create sales incentives.
  • Maintain guest experience and implement incentive programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience.
• Experience managing a full‑bar restaurant is preferred.
• Ability to work late nights, weekends and flexible shifts.
• Valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, and satisfactory background check.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Completion of Buffalo Wild Wings Management Certification program.
