Job summary

Uihlein Electric is seeking a Department Manager for Structured Cabling & Security Systems to lead and deliver technology projects from start to finish. You will manage schedules, budgets, and resources while acting as the primary client contact for scope and design coordination.

The role requires leadership experience, knowledge of electrical codes, and ability to read blueprints, with strong emphasis on safety, quality and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in low-voltage systems, electrical contracting, or technology integration.
• 2+ years in a leadership or project management role.
• Knowledge of current electrical codes and standards.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Prior experience with estimating software is heavily preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technology/low-voltage projects from pre-construction through closeout; develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients on technology scope.
• Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and clients on design and system layout.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors; manage costs to stay on budget.
• Conduct site safety and quality inspections and participate in meetings.
