Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience with PPO, HMO, and Medicaid insurance plans.
• Strong time management to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven problem-solving and critical thinking for patient and operational challenges.
• Advanced knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and treatment planning.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building patient rapport.
• Preferred: 2+ years as Treatment Coordinator in at least one dental specialty.
• Reliable internet and a dedicated remote workspace; able to perform remote duties.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on treatment recommendations in a clear, compassionate manner.
• Set expectations with treatment contracts outlining procedures and timelines.
• Reschedule missed or referred patients to reinforce ongoing care.
• Prepare specialty schedules to optimize provider utilization and patient flow.
• Submit and follow up on pre-authorizations for MD, PPO, and HMO plans.
• Adhere to appointment confirmation protocols to reduce no-shows and improve efficiency.
• Create and manage payment plans, explaining costs and insurance coverage.
• Increase patient conversion from general dentistry to specialty consults.
• Maintain patient records with consistent documentation of communications.
• Coordinate with Specialty Lead to finalize notes and documentation daily.
