Job summary

The University of New Mexico Department of Dental Medicine is seeking a highly organized Medical Education Program Specialist to support its AEGD Residency Program. The role involves coordinating recruitment, onboarding, rotations, and accreditation-related tasks, working with residents, faculty, and external partners.

The position demands managing complex schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with CODA and institutional requirements while supporting program events and budgets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of related experience.
• A completed degree above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resident recruitment, selection, onboarding, and orientation activities.
• Develop and maintain complex resident clinical rotation, didactic, leave, and on-call schedules.
• Coordinate internal and external rotation sites, faculty preceptors, guest lecturers, and educational activities.
• Maintain resident files, evaluations, completion records, and other required program documentation.
• Track residents’ progress toward completion of clinical, educational, and program requirements.
• Compile, analyze, and report program data for CODA and University requirements.
• Support accreditation reviews, program evaluations, annual reporting, and recertification.
• Coordinate educational conferences, lectures, journal clubs, presentations, and events.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and administrative support to residents, faculty, and leadership.
• Serve as liaison regarding residency operations and participant services.
• Assist with program budgets, funding records, purchasing, and other admin tasks.
• Develop and improve processes and practices to support the residency program.
