Job summary

Downey Smiles Dentistry is seeking a Healthcare Coordinator to partner with dentists and guide patients through treatment choices with a consultative approach. You will leverage financial options, educate patients, and ensure a seamless pathway from diagnosis to care, while upholding the Perfect Patient Experience.

You will participate in team meetings, maintain patient confidentiality, and support practice workflow across multiple offices as needed.

• Knowledge of office practices, technology applications and patient insurances.
• Results oriented, energetic self-starter who prioritizes daily tasks to achieve results.
• Patient advocate who is empathetic and ethical.
• Process-focused operator with detailed, organized approach.
• Financial acumen to understand profit drivers and explain options to patients.

Responsibilities

• Models company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices.
• Gain financial commitment from patients to start recommended dentistry.
• Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools to aid patient decisions.
• Executes HC handoff with clinicians on every exam.
• Subject matter expert on available financial options for budgeting needs.
• Overcome common patient objections to starting treatment.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorizations as needed prior to treatment.
• Ensure Compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies.
• Participate in daily huddles, team meetings and other required meetings.
