Job summary

Central CT Dental Group is seeking a friendly Registered Dental Hygienist to join a fast-paced, fully digital dental office in Plainville, CT. You will work part-time on Fridays, with opportunities to grow within a patient-centric practice.

The ideal candidate has an active dental hygiene license in Connecticut, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to high-quality patient care. Experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a licensed dental hygienist with an associate or higher degree.
• Current license to practice dental hygiene in the state of Connecticut.
• Experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients, review health history, perform oral exams and charting.
• Remove calculus and plaque from all tooth surfaces.
• Apply sealants and fluorides to prevent decay.
• Instruct patients on proper brushing, flossing and nutrition.
• Provide nutrition counseling related to oral health.
• Make impressions for study casts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the dentist.

Overview

We are looking for an outgoing Registered Dental Hygienist with strong interpersonal skills to join our fast-paced dental office. Experience is preferred and a current dental hygienist license is required. Our modern, fully digital practices provide restorative care, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, extractions, and implant restorations.

Schedule

Part-time, Fridays 7:45am-3pm

Duties/Responsibilities

• Patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, reviewing health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse.
• Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth.
• Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides).
• Teaching patients' appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
• Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
• Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs).
• Other duties as assigned.

• Possess a strong commitment to patient care, patient health and quality work.

Education And Experience

• Associate or advanced degree in Dental Hygiene.
