Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist for the Smart Smiles program in Milwaukee, WI. Provides screenings, sealants, fluoride, and radiographs in a school-based setting and counsels patients on oral hygiene and nutrition.

Maintains equipment and charts using dental software, while coordinating follow-up care with parents. Requirements include Wisconsin licensed Dental Hygienist, BLS within 30 days, and a high school equivalency or higher credential.

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• Dental Hygienist credentialed with Wisconsin Dentistry Examining Board before hire date.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide dental hygiene services in a school-based setting, including screenings, sealants, fluoride application, and diagnostic radiographs.

• Counsel patients and communities on oral hygiene, nutrition, and the connection between dental health and overall wellness.

• Maintain clinical equipment and supplies while ensuring accurate patient charting and administrative tasks via dental software.

• Act as a liaison by clearly reporting findings and necessary follow-up care to parents and guardians.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Dental Hygienist credentialed from the Wisconsin Dentistry Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences:

• Valid WI driver's license to travel to different locations throughout the Milwaukee area.

• Ability to work 8:00am - 3:00pm.
