Staff Today Inc. is seeking a Dental Hygienist Assistant in Springfield, VA to support dental clinicians and ensure high-quality patient care.

The role offers local pay of $30.09 per hour (W2) with a VA license/certification and X-ray certification where applicable. You will prepare rooms, assist treatments, manage records, educate patients, and ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• Six Months hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant or Dental Hygiene Assistant or in a Dental Assistant Internship is required.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• VA license/certification in good standing as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.
• Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress.
• Update patient health history and chart treatment progress.
• Expose and develop radiographs (if certified).
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.
• Support the hygienist with patient scheduling and treatment recommendations and office recall systems.
• Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA & OSHA.

Dental Hygienist Assistant Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must have at least Six Months of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant Or Dental Hygiene Assistant Or in a Dental Assistant Internship to be considered.


• Associate’s Degree or certification in Dental Assisting (preferred but not required).


• X-Ray certification.


• -6 months experience.


• Dental Assistant Certification.


• High school diploma or GED.


• Additional certifications may be required.


• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.


• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.


• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
