Job summary

Dental Health Associates in Verona, Virginia is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to support the clinical team. The successful candidate will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, take and develop X-rays, and assist dentists during procedures while delivering excellent patient care.

The position requires a one-year certified dental assistant program and X-ray certification; nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• Nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist in emergency situations with CPR certification, emergency drugs, and oxygen supply.

Education

One-year certified dental assistant program

X-Ray certification

Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended

High school diploma or equivalent

• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
