Job summary

Benevis is seeking a Patient Coordinator to join our dental team in Norfolk, VA. You will welcome patients, verify insurance eligibility, schedule appointments, and support the clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient flow throughout the day.

This role emphasizes friendly, compassionate service, with duties that include front desk duties, updating records, communicating with parents, and helping meet office targets while maintaining a clean, welcoming waiting area.

Qualifications

• Senior high school diploma or GED equivalently completed.
• Office experience in a dental or medical office preferred.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to patients and parents at check-in and check-out and verify patient insurance eligibility and service limits.
• Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient.
• Greet parents and patients when they enter or leave the office.
• Inform and update waiting parents about appointment progress.
• Maintain a clean and organized waiting area and front desk.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to appointment and ensure Boomerang file accuracy.
• Record and communicate service limits to the clinical team before treatment.
• Prepare all patient files (pull, update records, verify insurance and service limits) before appointments.
• Coordinate with Clinical Team Leader and Doctors to enable same-day care when possible.
• Support meeting office financial targets by keeping hygiene and operative schedules full.
• Schedule follow-up operatory and six-month recall appointments.
• Answer calls and direct to appropriate person, taking messages as needed.
• Make outbound calls to confirm appointments, reschedule no-shows, and follow up on pending treatments.
• Re-file all patient records at the end of the day.
• Uphold high integrity by adhering to government regulations and company policies.
• Verify and collect any out-of-pocket balances before treatment.
