Job summary

Envision a Smile - South Elgin is seeking a Front Desk professional in Elgin, IL to support daily front-office operations and ensure a positive patient experience. You will handle patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing to keep workflows efficient and records accurate.

The role collaborates with clinical and administrative teams and reports to the Office Manager or Office Manager Assistant.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a dental or medical front office environment preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Register new patients and update existing patient information in practice management systems.
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily appointment calendar.
• Complete recalls and patient callbacks to support schedule utilization.
• Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route calls appropriately.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for patients regarding scheduling, general inquiries, and administrative questions.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and patient-focused demeanor at all times.
• Escalate complex or sensitive patient concerns to the Office Manager or Office Manager Assistant.
