For more than 50 years, First Choice Community Healthcare has provided access to high-quality primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare to underserved populations in the Mid-Rio Grande Valley of central New Mexico. Currently, we operate seven (7) Community Health Centers and one (1) school-based clinic. We are recruiting a Dental Central Billing Representative I to join our team and support our mission to improve health, life skills, and wellbeing of our communities. Our health centers maintain an open-door policy, providing treatment regardless of income or insurance coverage. As a non-profit, First Choice is a vital community resource in Central New Mexico, offering comprehensive medical services and addressing emotional, social, and cultural needs.

A. POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Central Billing Manager, who reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, the Dental Central Billing Representative I is responsible for maintaining a high-performance environment characterized by timely and accurate entry of all charges for services provided at all locations.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review patient encounters for charge accuracy, including encounter rate and self-pay discount codes.
  2. Monitor and review site unbilled encounters and assist to meet daily and weekly deadlines.
  3. Complete all end-of-month closing activities and deadlines.
  4. Participate in billing Helpdesk customer support by responding to and documenting account inquiries.
  5. Complete bad debt processes following FCCH procedures.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

C. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to operate a 10-key numerical pad by touch
  • Experience in a multispecialty clinic setting

D. PREFERRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Coding and Billing Certificate

E. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of CDT, Dental Terminology, ICD-10 (preferred)
  • Familiarity with insurance and reimbursement processes (preferred)
  • Good telephone etiquette and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle diversified duties
