Shift & Schedule
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:45 to 5:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:45 to 6:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Requirements
- License & Certification: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and instruments.
Preferences
- License & Certification: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, X-ray / Radiography Certification
Completion of a dental assistant training program or certification (preferred).
Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Current CPR certification (preferred).
Experience: Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification: X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
Job Description
Patient Care:
- Prepare patients for dental treatments by welcoming, seating, and ensuring their comfort.
- Explain treatment plans and post-procedure care instructions to patients.
Clinical Assistance:
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including preparing and handing instruments.
- Take and develop X-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols.
Administrative Tasks:
- Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order replacements as needed.
- Process patient payments and insurance claims.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure dental equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues or coordinate repairs.
Work Environment:
- Clinical setting, requiring long periods of standing and using hands for precision work.
- Exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and equipment noise.
