Job summary

CommuniCare+OLE is seeking a Dental Assistant to support Dentists and staff with patient care, radiography, tray setups, and sterilization. The role requires flexibility to travel between sites and a commitment to high-quality patient experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a dental assistant credential or relevant experience, CPR certification, and California infection control training. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage and a solid benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Dental Assistant certificate preferred or 1-2 years of dental assisting preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
• Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
• Electronic health record system experience required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must have proof of completion of a board-approved Radiation Safety, California Dental Practice Act, and 8-hour Infection Control course.
• Driver's License Required.

Responsibilities

• Perform four-handed dental assisting for preventative, restorative, endodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics procedures for all ages.
• Assist dentist and staff per regulations and ensure efficient patient flow.
• Maintain proper PPE and sterile workflow.
• Escort patients to chair and prepare them for treatment with excellent customer service.
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and follow rooming workflows.
• Operate dental radiography equipment to obtain diagnostic radiographs when qualified.
• Collect medical/dental histories, intraoral photographs, and study models as needed.
• Take intraoral impressions for non-prosthodontic appliances.
• Place and remove isolation devices under supervision.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and preventive education.
• Support lab cases with documentation to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Clean, sterilize, and disinfect instruments per OSHA guidelines and transport to sterilization area.
• Follow OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Materials policies.
• Assist with dental charting and documentation in EMR.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Ensure operatories are stocked and manage inventory with supervisor notification.
• Monitor and maintain dental equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Prioritize tasks independently and manage time effectively.
• Attend meetings, trainings and educational programs.
