Heartland Dental's Smiles in Joplin is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team, providing chairside support, taking x-rays, and helping ensure patient comfort.

You will use Dentrix for scheduling, assist supported dentists with four-handed dentistry, and maintain safety and PHI protections as part of our high-quality patient care culture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.
• X-ray certification if required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Mandatory HIPAA training and PHI protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and educate them about treatment.
• Review health history to inform care quality.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA/CDCs).
• Manage supplies and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems.
