Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join the team at North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood, ID. The role supports the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in a correctional environment, handling chairside care, instrument sterilization, operatory setup, and radiographic duties.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a dental assisting program or six months' experience, Idaho DA license or ability to obtain, and CPR/TB clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a dental assisting program or six months of experience required.
• Idaho DA license or ability to obtain license.
• Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification preferred; if not held, must obtain within first year.
• Certification and/or experience performing dental x-rays preferred.
• Maintain TB screening documentation and active CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments.
• Prepare and maintain the dental operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment.
• Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

We are currently seeking a part time Dental Assistant to join our team at North Idaho Correctional Institution located in Cottonwood, ID.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision, assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and additional administrative tasks as needed.

• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant required
• Idaho DA license or ability to obtain license
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
