Job summary

North May Family Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. You’ll greet patients, review health histories, take X-rays, and provide chairside support while using Dentrix for scheduling and records.

Excellent communication and organization are essential, with HIPAA training and PHI protection required. This role supports a patient‑focused team in a welcoming practice environment.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification, as required by state.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort and provide education.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with OSHA & CDC safety protocols.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders.
• Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
