Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is looking for a Full-time Dental Assistant III at our Lynnwood Dental Clinic. You will assist dental providers in providing essential dental services including restorative and oral surgery procedures.

Qualifications

Sea Mar Community Health Centers – Overview

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a federally qualified health center founded in 1978 that provides comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities in Washington State, with a focus on serving Latinos.

Position Summary

Full‑time Dental Assistant III position available at our Lynnwood Dental Clinic. The assistant will aid the dental provider in the delivery of procedures permitted by the Washington State Dental Practice Act, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, orthodontic, and oral surgery services.

Required knowledge includes proper sterilization methods, OSHA regulations, quality improvement, radiograph duplication and mounting, temporary restoration placement, impression taking, model pouring and trimming, retraction cord insertion, matrix band placement, coronal polishing, and fluoride treatment.

Additional duties include maintaining records for MSDS, spore test, inventory of supplies, training new assistants, and organizing schedules for maintenance check‑lists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and provide chairside assistance using four‑handed dentistry techniques as outlined in the Dental Assistant Manual for diagnostic, preventative, restorative, endodontic, periodontal, oral surgery, prosthodontic, orthodontic, and other permitted services.
  • Identify and categorize each patient’s age‑specific needs (infant, adolescent, geriatric).
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, record management, and registration in Dentrix and Allscripts PM.
  • Oversee and maintain proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations in all clinic areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Valid Washington State Dental Assistant Registration badge.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification within 90 days of hire, maintained throughout employment.
  • Minimum of two years of expanded‑duties dental assisting experience.
  • Experience with dental records, computer use, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer‑service skills.
  • Proficient English reading, writing, and communication.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
