Position Summary
Full-time Dental Assistant position available for our White Center Dental Clinic. Candidate will assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and any other procedures permitted by the WA Dental Practice Act.
Responsibilities
- Assist the provider in restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and other permissible procedures.
- Maintain proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore tests, and inventory of dental supplies.
- Assist in training new Dental Assistants and organize schedules to generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a valid Washington State license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, strong organizational skills, dental record experience, and familiarity with computer use.
- Excellent customer service skills and effective communication in English. Must be able to read, write, and interpret common written material about dentistry.
- Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Preferred previous orthodontic experience.
Dental Assistant II Requirements
- Completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a college, technical institute, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months work experience required. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 18 months work experience.
Dental Assistant III Requirements
- Knowledgeable of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations, including QI. Able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish, and give fluoride treatments.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 3 years of experience.
