Job description

Sea Mar Community Health Centers – Posting #27497 – Hourly: $22.34 – $24.28

Position Summary

Full‑time Dental Assistant available for our Lacey Dental Clinic and Olympia Dental Clinic. Assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act. Work will include Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery and any other procedures permitted by the Act.

Major Responsibilities
  • Assist provider in a variety of dental procedures.
  • Maintain proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore test, and inventory of dental supplies.
  • Help train new Dental Assistants and organize schedules to generate check‑lists for maintenance of dental procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid WA State license and basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong organizational skills, dental record experience, and computer proficiency.
  • Excellent customer service skills; must communicate, read and write in English, and interpret common written material about dentistry.
  • Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Preferred prior orthodontic experience.
Additional Requirements by Level
  • Dental Assistant I: Minimum 6 months of work experience in a Dental Assistant position.
  • Dental Assistant II: Completed a formal Dental Assistant program (College, Technical Institute or equivalent) with at least 6 months of experience. If no formal training, at least 18 months of experience.
  • Dental Assistant III: Knowledge of sterilization methods and OSHA regulations, ability to duplicate and mount radiographs, take impressions, perform coronal polish, fluoride treatments, etc. Minimum 2 years of experience; if no formal training, at least 3 years.
