Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or completion of ADA accredited dental assisting course.
• Two years of continuous dental assisting experience acceptable if no ADA course.
• Radiation Safety Certification required for positions handling dental x-rays.

Responsibilities

• Set up operatory for dental and surgical procedures; maintain knowledge of procedures and sterilize instruments; follow infection control policies.
• Assist students and attendings during procedures; manage patient information in the EHR and ensure patient safety on exit.
• Acquire radiographs per treatment plan; schedule daily for 22 dental students and assign attendings to cover; ensure sharps are stored safely.
