The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Dental Assistant to support faculty, students and residents across multiple clinics. You will perform chair side assistance, radiography, sterilization, and supply management in a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will work under supervision, maintain patient privacy, and ensure infection control standards are met while utilizing the EHR to support patient care across the CDM clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or ADA‑accredited dental assisting course.
• One year of dental assisting experience OR three years of continuous experience.
• Certification in Radiation Safety required for positions responsible for dental x-rays.

Responsabilités

• 35%: Chair side assistance using four-handed dentistry; update and utilize the EHR to support patient care.
• 30%: Set up operatory, sterilize instruments, follow OSHA infection control policies.
• 10%: Acquire or assist with radiographs (periapical, panoramic, cephalometric, 3D imaging, intraoral scans) per treatment plan.
• 10%: Assist with urgent care, endodontic, screening and special care clinics; transport patients and monitor post-anesthesia safety.
• 10%: Manage dental supplies and inventory; maintain MSDS notebook and incident forms.
