Job description

Duties include maintaining and updating dental records, supplies, and equipment; assist the dentist at chair side; take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes; instruct patients in proper practices of dental hygiene and prophylaxis; sterilize, care for and arrange dental instruments, equipment, and accessories and make appointments for patients.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Certification: Applicants chosen for this position must possess a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire.

Candidates must meet ALL of the following:

• LICENSE: Possession of a current license as a Registered Dental Assistant by the State of California Board of Dental Examiners.
• EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience (full-time equivalent) performing clinical dental assistant duties which includes oral health education, charting of decayed, missing and/or filled teeth, and instructing patients on proper oral hygiene and proper nutritional habits.
• CERTIFICATION: Must possess a Coronal Polishing certification AND a current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

The ideal candidate will possess at least three (3) years of experience as a licensed Dental Assistant.
