Job summary

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Per Diem Physical Therapists I who plan, implement and perform individual therapy programs for the rehabilitation of patients.

Located on a 70-acre campus in Colton, CA, ARMC is a teaching hospital with a broad range of services and specialties. Applicants must pass background checks and meet licensure and BLS requirements; shifts are varied and may include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Physical Therapist license.
  • Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and perform individual therapy programs for rehabilitation.
  • Discuss treatment alternatives with physicians and other staff to determine the best plan.
  • Observe and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Record treatments, evaluations and progress.
  • Administer modalities including ultrasound, moist and dry heat, traction and massage, electrical stimulation, and ultraviolet treatments.
  • Perform tests and measurements.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Per Diem Physical Therapists I who plan, implement and perform individual therapy programs for the rehabilitation of patients.

Duties include, the following:

  • discuss treatment alternatives with physicians and other treatment staff to determine the most appropriate plan
  • observe and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment
  • record treatments, evaluations and progress
  • administer ultrasound, moist and dry heat, traction and massage, electrical stimulation, and ultraviolet treatments
  • perform tests and measurements

Positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Employees may participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles). Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical, and verification of employment history and education.

  • May be required to lift or assist in lifting children over fifty (50) pounds.
  • BLS Certificate: Physical Therapy Assistant incumbents must possess and maintain a valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the America Heart Association. Verification of a valid certificate must be provided within 30 days of the hire/start date, or conditional job offer may be rescinded.
  • Shift Availability: Positions require working various shifts; therefore, candidates must indicate availability for all shifts to be considered. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage may be required.
  • Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
  • LICENSE: Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Physical Therapist license issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs (Physical Therapy Board of California).
  • CERTIFICATION: Must possess and maintain Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

One (1) year of experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist is highly desired.
