Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant for the Hays State Prison in Trion, GA. You will support the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry within a correctional facility, handle instrument sterilization, operatory prep, radiography, and related admin tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, DB/DA license in GA, and CPR certification. A first-year certificate in expanded duties is preferred; security clearance and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school program in dental assisting or six months of dental assistant experience required.
• GA DA license or ability to obtain license.
• Expanded duty dental assistant certification preferred; if not held, must be obtained in the first year of employment.
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred.
• Must maintain current TB screening documentation and CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain security clearance, including drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and maintain the dental operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment and support administrative tasks as needed.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of mental health and dental services to the Georgia Department of Corrections.

We are currently seeking a full time Dental Assistant to join our team at the Hays State Prison located in Trion, Georgia.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision, assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and additional administrative tasks as needed.

Schedule - Mon - Thurs 6am-4:30pm

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant required
• Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
• Ability to obtain security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
