Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant for the Augusta State Medical Prison in Grovetown, GA. You will support dentists and hygienists, maintain the dental operatory, sterilize instruments, and handle radiographs in a correctional setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus dental assisting training or experience. DL/DA license and CPR are required, with certificates updated as needed. Security clearance and drug screening are part of the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school in dental assisting or 6 months of dental assistant experience required.
• GA DA license or ability to obtain license.
• Expanded duties certificate preferred; if unavailable, must obtain in first year.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of mental health and dental services to the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full time Dental Assistant to join our team at the Augusta State Medical Prison located in Grovetown, Georgia.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision, assisting the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and additional administrative tasks as needed.

Schedule

Day Shift Mon –Thurs 6AM to 430PM

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant required
• Georgia DA license or ability to obtain license
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
• Ability to obtain security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
