Job summary

Mechanicsburg Family Dentistry, part of the Heartland Dental family, is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team in Mechanicsburg. The role supports dentists with chairside care, patient education, and imaging using iTero 3D scanners and Dentrix scheduling, while upholding safety and privacy standards.

The candidate will review health histories, provide four-handed assistance, and help manage inventory and office workflow.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and educate patients throughout treatment.
• Review health history for quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic images (iTero 3D, digital photos).
• Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists.
• Schedule and record in Dentrix.
• Prepare treatment rooms per safety protocols (OSHA/CDC).
• Manage supplies and place orders to maintain inventory.
• Collaborate with providers to optimize office workflow.
