Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Dental Assistant for a full-time position at Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, IN. The role involves chairside dentistry under supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist, in a correctional environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and completion of a dental assisting program or six months of experience, plus radiology certification. CPR and ability to obtain security clearance are also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical dental assisting program or minimum six months of experience required.
• Certification in Dental Radiology required.
• Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification preferred.
• Must show PPD documentation for TB screening.
• CPR certification is required.
• Ability to obtain security clearance including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and Hygienist in chairside dentistry.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Technical dental assisting program or 6 months experience

Dental Radiology certification

Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification (preferred)

PPD tuberculosis screening documentation

CPR certification

Ability to obtain security clearance

We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant for a full-time opportunity at Indiana State Prison located in Michigan City, Indiana.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.

Essential Duties:

• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
• Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
• Operating radiographic equipment
• Administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or minimum six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
• Certification in Dental Radiology required
• Certification as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant preferred
• Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Available Shift:

full-time days, 40 hours per week
