Job summary

Sunshine Dental of Gulf Breeze is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. Schedule: Mon-Wed 7:30am-5:00pm and Thu 7:30am-3:00pm; enjoy a four day work week with three day weekends.

You will greet patients, review health histories, take x-rays, assist chairside, and manage supplies, while using Dentrix and maintaining safety protocols. This role offers growth in a supported Heartland Dental network.

Qualifications

• Florida x-ray certificate required.
• 1+ years of chairside dental assisting experience.
• Experience using Dentrix or similar dental software.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training required; protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and sustain patient comfort and provide education throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures in accordance with state dental practice acts.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place expeditious orders as needed.
• Partner with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
