Job summary

Thundermist Health Center is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team in Woonsocket, RI. You will provide chairside support, prepare treatment rooms, take x-rays, and capture impressions while maintaining infection-control standards and compassionate patient care.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, X-Ray and BLS certifications, and comfort with charting and documentation. Prior dental assistant experience is a plus, and a commitment to our community health

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
X-Ray Certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire).
BLS Certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire).
Comfortable using computers for charting and documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Previous dental assistant experience is a plus; candidates who don’t meet every preferred qualification are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Set up dental procedures and prepare treatment rooms for each patient.
Provide hands-on assistance to the dentist during procedures.
Take clear, diagnostic-quality x-ray films.
Capture accurate alginate impressions.
Sterilize dental instruments and maintain infection-control standards.
Record patient vitals and chief complaints in the chart.
Document clinical notes and treatment plans accurately.
Communicate with patients in a warm, professional manner to ensure comfort throughout their visit.
