Job summary

Thundermist Health Center is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide hands-on chairside support, x-ray imaging, and impression taking while maintaining infection-control standards. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care and accurate documentation in a fast-paced clinic.

The position is per diem at our South County dental clinics, with scheduling Monday–Thursday and Friday hours, and potential evening shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• X-Ray Certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire).
• BLS Certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire).
• Comfortable using computers for charting and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous dental assistant experience is a plus — candidates who don’t meet every preferred qualification are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Chairside support for dentists during procedures and take x‑ray films.
• Set up treatment rooms and prepare equipment and materials.
• Capture accurate alginate impressions as needed.
• Sterilize dental instruments and maintain infection-control standards.
• Record patient vitals and document treatment plans and notes.
• Communicate with patients in a warm, professional manner to ensure comfort.
