Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide support in predoctoral student clinics, assist with digital dentistry, scanning, and CAD/CAM workflows. You will help with patient care and case processing, while supporting students and clinicians in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 2 years of dental assisting experience, an active X-ray certification, and familiarity with digital workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of dental assisting experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• X-Ray certification required.
• Experience with CAD/CAM workflows preferred.

• Provide efficient, accurate, and professional support to students, faculty, providers, patients, and the Digital Dentistry team.
• Maintain infection control, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

Job description

Purpose

Provides dental assisting and digital dentistry support in the predoctoral student clinics, including patient care, digital scanning, CAD/CAM workflows, case processing, and student support.

• Provide efficient, accurate, and professional support to students, faculty, providers, patients, and the Digital Dentistry team.
• Maintain appropriate infection control, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
• Work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Maintain proficiency with digital dentistry technology, equipment, and related software.

Basic qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Dental Assisting experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• X-Ray certification required
• Previous experience with a digital workflow preferred
• Exposure and/or training working with a CAD/CAM system such as Planmeca or Sirona CEREC.

Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience
