Job summary

Responsibilities include patient education, taking X-rays, assisting with impressions, maintaining study models, and ensuring infection control.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job experience in dental assisting.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification and infection-control training are expected to be maintained annually as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient care: welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & diagnostics: take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & safety: ensure infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling, including intake when needed.
• Assist in emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
• X-Ray certification
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
