Job summary

Konikoff Dental Associates in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting dentists during procedures.

Candidates must have at least one year of on-the-job experience and X-Ray certification; Nitrous Oxide certification is preferred. We offer health/dental/vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k), CE support, and a modern office with advanced technology.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job experience in dental assisting.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
