Pediatric Dental Care in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team in a collaborative, patient‑focused environment. Prior dental assisting experience is required to join our team and help deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, taking X-rays, educating patients on oral hygiene, and maintaining records. We offer a full-time schedule, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 1 year on-the-job-experience.
• X-Ray certification - Preferred.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Education

One-year certified dental assistant program

1 year on-the-job-experience

X-Ray certification

Nitrous Oxide certification

High school diploma or equivalent
