Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic procedures.
  • Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
  • Record vital signs and medical history information accurately.
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records with precision.
  • Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment and ensure understanding of procedures performed.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques throughout all clinical activities to prevent infection transmission.
  • Support administrative duties as needed, including dental reception tasks and managing medical documentation.
  • Stay current with advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to improve patient outcomes.
Experience
  • Prior experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general or pediatric dental practice is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and infection control procedures is essential.
  • Previous exposure to specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics can enhance your ability to support complex procedures.
