Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. This is a part-time position to work 3 days a week.

The role includes taking x-rays, IOs, assisting in prophylaxis cleaning, and instructing patients on oral hygiene.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college OR 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• X-Ray certification required; BLS and infection control certifications preferred.
• Proficiency with taking x-rays and assisting in dental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures and takes x-rays.
• Takes IOs and performs prophylaxis cleaning assistance.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene and helps set up rooms.
• Sterilizes instruments and charts patient treatment plans with the doctor.

Dental Assistant

Summary: The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. This is a part time position to work 3 days a week.

Pay Range: $17.36-$22.60/hr (Based on experience)

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays
• Takes IO's
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene

• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

Required Certificates or Licences:

• X-Ray certification
• BLS certification

• 8-hour Infection Control certification
• 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification
