CHOICE Healthcare Services in Sparks, NV is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support the dental care team. The role involves preparing treatment rooms, taking x-rays and IOs, charting, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during procedures for a 3-day-per-week schedule.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college OR 3–6 months related experience or training.
• Nevada X-Ray certification or affidavit required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 4-hour Infection Control certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the dentist in procedures.
• Takes x-rays.
• Takes IOs.
• Assists in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breaks down and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
• Charts treatment plans with doctor.

Education

Dental assisting certification or training (3-6 months related experience acceptable)

X-Ray Nevada certification or affidavit

BLS certification

4-hour Infection Control certification

Dental Assistant

Summary:The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Nevada dental standards. This is a part time position to work 3 days a week.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Required Certificates or Licenses:

• X-Ray Nevada certification or affidavit
• BLS certification
• 4-hour Infection Control certification
