A leading healthcare organization in Missouri is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support dental teams in patient care, education, and treatment. This full-time role involves assisting with procedures, educating the community, and ensuring compliance with health standards. Compensation: $24-$26+/hr, dep Ed/Exp/Expanded Func
The Dental Assistant will perform duties that assist the dentist, hygienists, and other assistants in patient care and treatment. Supports the dental team by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials, ensuring procedures comply with the dental practice act. Performs reception, chairside assisting, sterilization, inventory, and record-keeping duties.
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position working Monday - Thursday.
Responsibilities Include:
• Educate and promote oral health through presentations in schools, civic organizations, community programs, and other entities
• Promote and implement the Preventive Services Program (PSP) in local schools
Clinical Tasks:
• Review health history
• Conduct dental charting
• Take dental radiographs
• Perform infection control and sterilization procedures
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and health strategies
• Assist dentist with various dental procedures including oral surgery, restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and preventive care
• Prepare treatment rooms following protocols
• Take patient vitals
• Communicate professionally with team and patients
• Maintain dental equipment and resources
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment
• Travel to other clinics as needed
• Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, radiation, fumes, gases, biohazard waste, and electrical hazards
High School/GED preferred
• At least two (2) years of dental assisting experience preferred
• Computer literacy in email, word processing, and management software required
• Valid driver’s license and insurance coverage required or ability to obtain within 30 days
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: BLS certification or ability to obtain required
