How You’ll Make a Difference

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you will perform duties to help create lasting impressions and build trust with patients.

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow
• Assist doctors during treatment procedures
• Break down operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists
• Complete sterilization processes and ensure staff compliance
• Follow maintenance schedules for equipment and waterlines
• Prepare trays and operatory setups
• Support patient charting and monitor patient flow
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA regulations
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Provide post-treatment oral care instructions and patient education
• Complete denture relines and temporary crowns
• Monitor laboratory cases and perform intraoral health scans
• Understand and teach clear aligner processes
• Take quality impressions and bite registrations
• Perform additional functions based on certification
• Maintain emergency kits and supplies
• Perform various office tasks as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License and certification as required by state
• Radiology (x-ray) certification
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant
• Proficiency in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control
• Compliance with CE requirements and state certifications
