Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services in Sacramento is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments and materials, passing instruments, and assisting with procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. The role requires X-ray certification and BLS, along with infection control training.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Takes X-rays.
• Takes IO's (intraoral examinations).
• Assist in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
• Charting of patient treatment and treatment plan with doctor.

Summary: The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Pay Range: $18.00 to $24.00

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Required Certificates or Licences:

• X-Ray certification
• BLS certification

• 8-hour Infection Control certification
• 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification
